Photographer's Portfolio

Film
Digital made photography more accessible, and much easier to learn with the cost of a mistake no longer really tangible. Coming back to film has been a revelation though - slowing down, considering each element of the composition, and really thinking about how light, shadow, film and optics interact to produce an image. It makes you a better photographer, in my opinion, and what's more - the look and feel of some films just cannot be reproduced digitally. It seems counter-intuitive to scan film and present it digitally, but for the interweb this will have to do for now!

The Orphanage
Single images sometimes get bad press, but I think they are an important part of a portfolio. Not all images can belong to, or work well in, a group or series. Not all images need to. Individuals have their own stories, and often they are as worthy of exploration as the multi-character epics!
